CrisisLink Partners with Five Below in Unique Fundraiser

Five Below will donate 10% of sales Aug. 18 & 19 to help fund CrisisLink’s Hotlines

ARLINGTON, VA. (August 7, 2007) – CrisisLink has partnered with Five Below, Inc.’s Woodbridge, Va., store in a special fundraiser this month. Five Below will contribute to CrisisLink an amount equal to 10 percent of sales between the hours of 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 18 and 19, 2007. Shoppers must present a special flier at the time of purchase to qualify their purchase for calculation of the final contribution.

“CrisisLink is pleased to partner with Five Below, Inc.’s Woodbridge location on this special fund raising opportunity,” says Marshall Ellis, CrisisLink’s director of development. “This partnership will increase awareness of our 24/7 hotlines for those facing crises, trauma, and suicide in our community. Our Hotlines are free, confidential, and staffed primarily by trained volunteers, who provide compassionate support and link people to community resources to empower them to help themselves.”

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college-aged young adults and the third leading cause of death among all youths. In the last three years, the number of young people calling CrisisLink’s Hotlines has skyrocketed 226 percent and total calls jumped 78 percent.

This fund raising event is part of Five Below, Inc.’s Shopping Nights fund raising program. The program is designed to benefit charitable organizations, schools, teams, and clubs serving the communities in which Five Below, Inc. operates. CrisisLink provides youth and senior outreach programs; community training on mental health and suicide prevention; and the first comprehensive postvention program in the region with immediate support and support groups for survivors of sudden and traumatic loss, and training for professionals and community members.

. The participating Five Below, Inc., store is located in the Potomac Mills Mall at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle, Suite 144, Woodbridge, Va. For store directions, please call (703) 494-5805.
